Former Lady Saluqi Aisha Fowler-Barker
is in her eighth year as assistant coach. Barker played for Coach
Herbert Wright during the 1995-96 and 1996-97 seasons. Her freshman
season, she made the All-West Division team, and as a sophomore made
both the All-West Division and All-TJCCAA teams. Both years, Barker
was named the Lady Saluqis' "Team MVP", and was on the Region VII
All-Tournament team as well.
She came to Shelby State from Raleigh-Egypt High School in Memphis,
where she played for coach Isaiah Wade. Barker was team MVP as a
senior, and led the Lady Pharoahs in assists and free throw
percentage her senior season.
Barker received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Recreation
from Tougaloo College in 2001. Barker and her husband, David, have
one daughter - Daisha DanYelle, age 7. |
