Applications are due Wednesday, September 3

•The Southwest Cheerleading Team is a 12-Member Co-ed squad

•Cheerleaders are awarded stipends per semester

•Cheerleaders will perform at all home basketball games and selected away games

•Cheerleaders will participate in student activities and other events planned by Southwest

•Cheerleaders will volunteer one full day at a Memphis area charity organization

Cheerleading Requirements:
Must be enrolled for at least six (6) credit hours per semester
Must have basic tumbling skills (i.e. cartwheel, round off, back bend, forward/backward roll)
Must have at least two years of cheerleading/dance or majorette experience
Must be knowledgeable of basic cheerleading terminology
Must have a positive attitude!

Attire for tryouts:
Ladies – t-shirt or aerobics tank top, shorts or dance pants, sports bra, socks, gym shoes
Gentlemen – t-shirt, shorts or workout pants, socks, gym shoes
*All fitness attire must be tasteful.

Audition routine will be taught by Coach Tiller. Candidates will be given an opportunity to display other talents and skills as it relates to cheerleading/dance at the end of auditions. Candidates will be interviewed by a panel of judges before auditions and are required to wear business attire for the interview. Candidate's audition number will be posted on the southwest cheerleading webpage if chosen for the 2008-2009 squad! Please direct any and all questions to Coach Tiller at stiller@southwest.tn.edu
