LADY SALUQIS SOFTBALL SWEEPS CROWLEY'S RIDGE
The
Southwest softball team won both games of a doubleheader
on Monday against Crowley's Ridge in Paragould,
Arkansas, improving its record to 19-16 on the season.
Staci Craig tossed a no-hitter as the Lady Saluqis won
the opener 13-0, while Maegan Wilson duplicated the feat
in the nightcap, winning 10-0. Whitney Grimes
(pictured at right) homered twice and drove in four
runs in the second game. It was the first time in
Southwest history a player has hit two home runs in a
game.
Other top hitters on the day were Amber Gatewood (4
hits, 2 doubles, 2 RBI), Alyse Brewer (4 hits, 2 RBI),
Whitney Witcher (4 hits, double, 2 RBI), Carly McLennan
(3 hits, triple, 3 RBI), and Amanda Harlow (3 hits, 3
RBI).
