LADY SALUQIS SOFTBALL SWEEPS CROWLEY'S RIDGE

The Southwest softball team won both games of a doubleheader on Monday against Crowley's Ridge in Paragould, Arkansas, improving its record to 19-16 on the season.  Staci Craig tossed a no-hitter as the Lady Saluqis won the opener 13-0, while Maegan Wilson duplicated the feat in the nightcap, winning 10-0.  Whitney Grimes (pictured at right) homered twice and drove in four runs in the second game.  It was the first time in Southwest history a player has hit two home runs in a game.

Other top hitters on the day were Amber Gatewood (4 hits, 2 doubles, 2 RBI), Alyse Brewer (4 hits, 2 RBI), Whitney Witcher (4 hits, double, 2 RBI), Carly McLennan (3 hits, triple, 3 RBI), and Amanda Harlow (3 hits, 3 RBI).
