SOFTBALL SIGNS THREE
The Southwest softball program has announced the signings of three
student-athletes to National Letters of Intent for 2008-09. Signees
include
Haley
McCormick (Clarksville, AR),
Lauren
Dreher (Little Rock, AR), and
Ashley
Huey (Bartlett).

McCormick is a right-handed pitcher who compiled a 29-6 record with
a 1.06 earned run average as a junior at Clarksville High School.
McCormick struck out 273 batters while walking only 25 in 229
innings. In 2007, she pitched two no-hitters, six one-hitters, and
11 shut-outs (including four in a row to start the season.)
Dreher, a catcher-outfielder, has batted over .500 in each of her
three varsity seasons at Central Arkansas Christian School. Dreher,
who has hit 19 home runs in her high school career, led CAC to the
Arkansas Class AAA state championship in 2006 and to the state
quarterfinals in 2007.
Huey, a catcher at Bartlett High School, was named to The Commercial
Appeal’s Best of the Preps Team as a 2007. Huey has lettered three
seasons at Bartlett High and has a career batting average of over
.300 including .327 as a junior.
