SALUQIS' BASEBALL
WINS TWO OF THREE OVER HIWASSEE
The Southwest baseball team won two of three conference
games against Hiwassee over the weekend at First
Tennessee Fields, improving to
22-22 overall and 11-11 in the TJCCAA.
 In
game one last Friday, Mike Fortenberry's (pictured at
right) inside-the-park home run in the bottom of the
tenth inning gave the Saluqis a 4-3 win. After losing
game two of Friday's doubleheader 6-3, Southwest came
back to win Saturday's single game 6-1. Billy Ray Todd
and Corey Rudolph each homered and Nick Purcell allowed
only three hits and no runs in seven innings to earn the
victory.
The Saluqis will play at Jackson State this weekend in
the final regular season series. Game times will
be 1 p.m. on Friday and noon (doubleheader) on Saturday.
